This looks just amazing 
The simple background against the shading on the cat makes everything more poignant and the cuts are painted so well they do actually look physically painful, not just flashy to look at. The glint of the eye is, of course, my favorite part. I always tend to give a character's eyes a lot of attention, but in this case it serves to help the picture look more severe. Anyway, great job, though I'm sorry you seem to be feeling so rough again
